What is brazilian wax?
A Brazilian removes all the hair at the front — pubic mound, labia and the bikini line — plus the strip between the cheeks (the buttstrip). You can ask for a small strip or triangle to be left at the front; just say so before we start. A Hollywood is the same plus the butt cheeks, for a completely bare result front and back.
It's a private, one-to-one appointment in a closed treatment room. You undress from the waist down, a disposable cover is provided, and Mital talks you through each position so nothing is a surprise.

Before your appointment
- Grow hair to about ¼ inch — 2–3 weeks after shaving. Longer is fine; we trim
- Gently exfoliate the day before, not the day of
- Shower before you come; skip lotion, oil and powder on the area
- Wear loose, breathable underwear and clothing to go home in
- On your period? Wear a fresh tampon or menstrual cup and you can keep your appointment
Aftercare
- Wear loose cotton underwear for the rest of the day
- No sex, hot tubs, swimming, sauna or intense workouts for 24 hours
- Avoid fragranced products and self-tan on the area for 24–48 hours
- Start gentle exfoliation after 48 hours, 2–3 times a week, to prevent ingrowns

What's the difference between a Brazilian, a Hollywood and a bikini wax?
A bikini wax ($45) cleans up the outer bikini line only — what would show in a swimsuit. A Brazilian ($75) is 100% bare at the front plus the buttstrip, but not the butt cheeks. A Hollywood ($85) is the Brazilian plus the butt cheeks: bare everywhere, front and back. You can always ask to leave a strip or triangle at the front.
How long should my hair be for a Brazilian wax?
Around ¼ inch, or 2–3 weeks after your last shave. Too short and the wax can't grip, so hairs snap and come back fast; that's the main reason people's first wax 'doesn't last'. Too long isn't a problem — we trim to the right length before waxing, which also makes it hurt less. Our blog has a full guide.
Can I get a Brazilian on my period?
Yes, with a fresh tampon or menstrual cup in place — it's completely normal for us. The only catch is that skin is often more sensitive in the days just before and during your period, so you may find it stings more. If you'd rather avoid that, book a week after your period ends.
Does a Brazilian hurt the first time?
The first one is the most uncomfortable because all the hair is coarse and on different growth cycles. Each strip stings for a second or two. It gets much easier by the second or third visit as hair weakens. Taking an over-the-counter pain reliever 30–45 minutes before (if it's safe for you) and avoiding caffeine helps.
What is the Brazilian Renewal price?
If your last Brazilian with us was under 5 weeks ago, you book the Brazilian Renewal at $60 instead of $75 (Hollywood Renewal is $70 instead of $85). Is it awkward? I'm nervous about my first Brazilian.
Almost everyone is nervous the first time, and that's fine. It's a private room, you're covered with a disposable cover except for the area being waxed, and Mital explains each step and position before doing it. You can ask to pause at any point. Most clients say the anticipation was worse than the appointment.
Is a Brazilian wax at MK Elegance Studio hygienic?
Hygiene matters most for intimate waxing, and it's treated that way: the area is cleansed before waxing, tools and surfaces are sanitised between clients, and the appointment is one-to-one in a closed room inside the Luna Aesthetics clinic.
