What is brow lamination?
Lamination restructures the brow hairs, not the skin. A lifting lotion relaxes each hair's bonds so it can be combed up and across into a fuller, uniform shape; a setting lotion then locks that direction in. Hairs that grew down or sideways now sit up and fill the gaps between them.
It's the brushed-up, "soap brow" look without the daily product. Because it changes direction rather than adding hair, results depend on how many hairs you start with — which is why a consultation and an honest answer about sparse brows come first.

Before your appointment

- Stop retinol or acid serums near the brows 48 hours before
- Don't tweeze in the week before — we need every hair to direct
- Plan around swimming or a sauna: the brows must stay dry for 24 hours afterwards
Aftercare
- Keep brows completely dry for 24 hours — no water, steam, sweat or face wash on them
- No makeup, oils or brow products for 24 hours
- Brush them up each morning with a clean spoolie from day two
- Use a drop of nourishing oil on the brows at night after 48 hours
- Avoid retinol and acids over the brows while the lamination lasts

Will brow lamination work on sparse or thin brows?
It helps if your brows are thin because of direction, not because hairs are missing. Lamination makes existing hairs stand up and cover more skin, so brows with light density look noticeably fuller. It can't fill a genuine bald patch or scar. For very sparse brows we'll usually suggest a tint first, or growing them out for 4–6 weeks before laminating.
How long does brow lamination last?
Usually 6–8 weeks. The set relaxes gradually as hairs shed and new ones grow in their natural direction. Results last toward the longer end if you keep the brows dry for the first 24 hours, use a nourishing oil at night, and keep retinol and exfoliating acids away from them.
Brow lamination vs brow tint — which should I book?
Book a tint ($29.85) if your brows are the right shape but too light. Book lamination if they're dark enough but messy, downward-growing or patchy-looking. If they're both light and unruly, do both in one visit — the tint goes on while the hairs are set in place. Our blog post compares the two in detail.
Does brow lamination damage your brows?
Done properly and not too often, no. The solutions work on the hair shaft, so overprocessing comes from repeating it too soon or leaving lotion on too long. That's why we time each step to your hair texture, use a conditioning oil at the end, and won't re-laminate within 6 weeks.
Can I wear brow gel or makeup after brow lamination?
Not for the first 24 hours — keep the brows completely dry and product-free while the set finishes. After that, you can fill gaps with pencil or powder, but most clients find they don't need gel at all; brushing up with a clean spoolie each morning is enough. Avoid oil-based removers on the brows, which loosen the set faster.
How is brow lamination kept hygienic?
Brows and the skin around them are cleansed before any solution goes on, tools are sanitised between clients, and the treatment happens one-to-one in a private room at MK Elegance Studio.
